Recently there has been a spate of gruesome murders of innocent babies, toddlers and children. Sadly most of these children were murdered by someone known to them. In one of the most recent cases, a mother on the verge of divorce moves in with her boyfriend and child. The child is found dead with her body cut up into three sections and disposed off in various places. Sickening................. the suspect, the mum's boyfriend.

In another case, a young couple with two children, a toddler and a baby decide to move into a rented apartment. Prior to the move, the children were cared for by the girl's mum. Barely a week since bringing the children home, the toddler is dead. Abused...and hit in the face and various parts of the body. Suspects....parents.

My imagination goes wild, and I try to control myself from thinking how the child must have suffered.... I feel their pain. Why are people having children when they do not have the finances, patience and time to care for them? I think many couples are pressured to children because society expects one to have children after marriage. I mean, at every wedding dinner (here in this country), we always toast to longetivity and fruitfulness...and we tell the couple to quickly multiply.

But I think...having children is a BIG responsibility that requires much of ones time, energy and finances. Babies and toddlers can test ones patience to the max by their crying, tantrums, night wakings etc. I suppose these irresponsible, impatient parents try to subdue the child with beatings, torture and abuse. The child cries out more and more because of pain..and the parents become more abusive...often causing tremendous hurt, trauma and sometimes death to their children. It's sad.

I think...people should really think hard before procreating. They should be given some kinda warning or guideline before the decision to have a child...............

  1. Hi Hearts,

I also publish the same concern on my blog today! Yes, I began to wonder what has happened to this world and our own society. We need to pray for our children even as they are exposed more and more to this wicked wicked world!

  2. i agree. i'd rather not be born than to be born to irresponsible, hateful, abusive parents! seriuosly i think such people should be neutered and not allowed to contribute their genes to the next generation.

I think todays world are more pressured to everybody of cause the parents were not happier them that ends with death child.

We lived in the our society is makes me sick, some younger people were no responsibility.

Why don't we understand that our children are precious for our future, I think I better stopped that too much to said...hopefully we don't hear MUCH these SAD STORIES.

  6. Hello Hearts,how are you?

The above was frightening but a harsh reality !! Drug dependant, alcoholic etc parents are capable of hurting their offsprings, especially when under the influence of drugs/alcohol !! Some may belong to such backgrounds and are simply doing what their parents did to them !! Small kids are easy targets and forever available beating boards !! Its very sad one feels bad for such kids !! I wonder if there isany law in your country that protectsthe rights of abused kids? We do not have a such law enforcement here, for such cases are not really reported !! In USA atleast the kids are taken away from the abusive parents/parent and put up in foster homes/under the care of the state !! Atleast there is some fear of loosing the kids...ie if such a thing exists in an abusive person's conscience !!
    And,yes the results are out!!
    Love to the girls !!
    have a nice day!
    Love
    Sonia

  7. how very sad these stories make one ;none of these children asked to be born and their lives are cut short by such cruelty by the people who should be protecting them .I agree with you on all counts ,raising children is the hardest job ever when you take it seriously ..also the most rewarding too !!!!
keep up the good work of raising your two angels

    love and blessings
